WHO WE ARE

Jarina is the Cooperative for Rural Development, established in 2004 by uniting entrepreneurs, restaurant owners and farmers, who were willing to believe in this project. Key aim of its establishment was to support small local producers in sales and promotion of local agricultural products and tourist programmes. Jarina also promotes socially responsible entrepreneurship and strives to take a further step in this field, i.e. establish infrastructural conditions for the improvement of the local self-sufficiency programme in Slovenia.

WHAT WE ARE ENGAGED IN

We support local food producers in their growth and quality assurance and we have established market channels for selling their products to kindergartens, schools, hotels and restaurants and consumers’ communities in Slovenia. Our references are very strong and renowned in the area of local food, traditional food products and local self-sufficiency. In the field of craft and tourism we provide training, promotion and marketing of high quality products. On the other hand our role is also significant in rising general public awareness of local products and traditions. It has been built trough organising events, workshops, fairs of local products and dissemination of information. We organise different trainings in the field of entrepreneurship, personal growth, professional orientation for children and youth and other stakeholders. By cooperating with different stakeholders in all main sectors (public, private, NGO) we contribute to the development of our land.
